Gros Michel is a very strong early +15 Mult card, so buy it when that bonus turns your normal hand into a consistent clear. It can carry several Antes while you build economy or search for a scoring direction. Its destruction chance is meaningful, but the card still produces value every round it survives and can unlock the next stage of the banana line.

Gros Michel can go in any open slot. If Blueprint is copying it, put Blueprint immediately to its left but do not make that layout permanent at the expense of a later engine. A typical sequence is to use Gros Michel in the middle of an early board, clear blinds with the +15, and leave enough flexibility to replace it after self-destruction.

The essential relationship is Cavendish: Gros Michel must destroy itself during the current run before Cavendish becomes available. Brainstorm can copy Gros Michel while it remains useful, but do not overbuild around a temporary flat-Mult card. Pair it with Chips and hand upgrades so it has a solid base, then be ready to pivot when the banana disappears.

Skip it when +15 Mult does not solve a current scoring threshold, when your slots are already committed to a scaling engine, or when buying it would break essential shop economy. It is not a reason to abandon a mature build for a short-lived number, especially late where XMult and scaling are more valuable.

Do not sell Gros Michel merely to hunt Cavendish; self-destruction is required. Another mistake is relying on it as the only source of Mult and being unprepared when it vanishes. Use its reliable early power to create a transition plan, and regard the Cavendish unlock as upside rather than a guaranteed schedule.

Treat the current in-game tooltip as the source of truth: patches, platform versions, and mods can change values, availability, or interactions. This rating is editorial rather than permanent; it weighs copy value, scaling ceiling, route stability, and required setup. When a version changes, the tooltip is checked before strategy notes and tiers are revised.
