Blueprint Balatro Joker

Its position is part of the puzzle; copy a Joker that activates in the same scoring window.

It is unlockable and can appear through normal shop play.

Blueprint copies the Joker immediately to its right, so solve its position before playing the hand. Put the best compatible payoff directly beside it, then move the pair only when another card is worth copying more. The strongest target is usually a scalable or repeatable ability that already fits your scoring window, not merely the Joker with the largest printed number.

Blueprint must sit immediately left of its target. A common Baron layout is Brainstorm on the far left, Baron next to it, then Blueprint directly left of a second payoff if the board permits. For a simpler example, put Blueprint directly before Cavendish so the pair produces two X3 effects; moving Cavendish breaks the copy.

Blueprint and Brainstorm can create a powerful copy chain, but their directions differ: Blueprint reads right, while Brainstorm reads the far-left slot. Baron is excellent when the deck and hand size already support held Kings, because copying it multiplies an established payoff. Blueprint also amplifies Hanging Chad or a card-trigger engine when the copied ability can fire in the same scored hand.

Do not buy Blueprint just because it is rare. A board of weak generic Jokers gives it nothing meaningful to copy, and ten dollars can be the difference between surviving a shop and missing the enabler your deck needs. It is less attractive when every good target has a positional restriction you cannot preserve.

The usual failure is placing Blueprint beside a card and assuming it copies the best Joker anywhere on the board. It only sees its right neighbor. Another mistake is copying an effect that triggers outside the relevant scoring window or selling the target after arranging the pair. Recheck the layout whenever you add, move, or duplicate a Joker.

Treat the current in-game tooltip as the source of truth: patches, platform versions, and mods can change values, availability, or interactions. This rating is editorial rather than permanent; it weighs copy value, scaling ceiling, route stability, and required setup. When a version changes, the tooltip is checked before strategy notes and tiers are revised.
