Broad retrigger support after the deck is dense with Kings and Queens.

It is unlockable and can appear through normal shop play.

Sock and Buskin retriggers every played face card, so it wants a hand full of face-card effects rather than one lucky King. Increase face-card density, play several of them in each scoring hand, and make sure their individual triggers are worth repeating. It becomes a real engine when the deck has rank focus or Pareidolia support, not when face cards are incidental.

Sock and Buskin cares about the played-card row, not Joker position. Fill that row with face cards whose triggers are worth repeating. For example, a hand containing two Kings and a Queen under Triboulet gets each eligible card retriggered; add Hanging Chad’s preferred face card first if you also want extra repeats on that one card.

Triboulet is the clearest payoff because each played King or Queen can receive its X2 trigger again. Pareidolia turns every card into a face card, greatly increasing consistency for the retrigger condition, while Hanging Chad adds still more repeats to the first card. Photograph can contribute if the leading card is a face card, though it has a narrower first-card condition.

Pass when the deck rarely plays face cards, when their scored effects are weak, or when a direct multiplier would solve the next blind more reliably. Sock and Buskin does not make a plain face card valuable by itself. It needs enough trigger density to justify occupying a slot that could otherwise give guaranteed score.

Do not read it as a retrigger for every played card; only face cards qualify. Another error is assuming it automatically makes any face-card deck strong without a payoff such as Triboulet, Photograph, seals, or enhancements. Count what will actually retrigger in a normal hand before committing the slot.

Treat the current in-game tooltip as the source of truth: patches, platform versions, and mods can change values, availability, or interactions. This rating is editorial rather than permanent; it weighs copy value, scaling ceiling, route stability, and required setup. When a version changes, the tooltip is checked before strategy notes and tiers are revised.
